How to register a death

Death registration

The British Embassy in Kabul is unable to register a death locally but we can accept the death registration documentation and will forward to London for further action. Please be aware that it can take up to three months from the date the relevant documentation is received to register a death. 

Death Registration - Documentation required:

1.                   Completed form Death Registration Form (DOC, 23.5KB)

2.                   death certificate of the deceased (with a notarised English translation where applicable);

3.                   cremation or burial certificate;

4.                   doctor's/hospital report detailing cause of death;

5.                   passport and nationality certificate of the deceased;

6.         Fee payable in cash in USD submitted in person at the Consular section of the British Embassy (Fees can be found on the fee listing page).
